HOW TO COMMEND AN OFFICER

The Blueberry Police Department values feedback from the community we serve. If an officer has gone above and beyond, provided exceptional service, or made a positive impact during an interaction, we encourage you to submit a commendation. Recognizing our officers for outstanding work helps us maintain high standards and boosts morale within the department.

REASONS TO COMMEND AN OFFICER

You may wish to commend an officer who:
  • Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy during an interaction
  • Went above and beyond to assist you or someone else
  • Provided exceptional service during a difficult situation
  • Showed compassion and understanding
  • Acted bravely or heroically
  • Made a positive impact on your community
  • Displayed excellent communication or problem-solving skills
INFORMATION TO INCLUDE

When submitting a commendation, please provide:
  • Your name and contact information (optional but helpful for follow-up)
  • The name or badge number of the officer (if known)
  • The date, time, and location of the interaction
  • A description of what occurred and why you are commending the officer
  • Any other relevant details
HOW TO SUBMIT A COMMENDATION

Commendations can be submitted through the following methods:
  • Online: Submit a commendation through our department website.
  • In Person: Visit the Blueberry Police Department station and speak with front desk personnel.
  • Phone: Call the department and ask to submit a commendation.
  • Written Letter: Mail a letter to the Blueberry Police Department addressed to the Chief of Police.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

All commendations are reviewed by department supervisors and forwarded through the chain of command. The officer will be notified of your commendation, and it will be placed in their personnel file. Outstanding commendations may be considered for formal awards and recognition during department ceremonies.
