MEDIA DISTRIBUTION LIST

The Blueberry Police Department maintains an official Media Distribution List for accredited journalists, news organizations, and media outlets. Members of this list receive timely press releases, advisories, and notifications directly from the department's Public Information Officer.

Members of the Media Distribution List receive:

ELIGIBILITY

The Media Distribution List is open to:
  • Credentialed journalists employed by recognized news organizations
  • Freelance journalists with verifiable publication history
  • News directors and assignment editors
  • Public affairs representatives of news organizations
  • News agencies and wire services
  • Recognized online news publications
REQUIREMENTS

To be added to the Media Distribution List, applicants must:
  • Provide proof of media affiliation or credentials
  • Provide a valid professional email address (personal emails may not be accepted)
  • Agree to abide by the department's Embargo Policy
  • Agree to use information responsibly and accurately
  • Maintain professional conduct in all interactions with department personnel
HOW TO JOIN

To request membership on the Media Distribution List, please submit the following information to the Public Information Officer:
  • Full name
  • Media organization/outlet name
  • Position/title
  • Professional email address
  • Phone number
  • Mailing address (optional)
  • Type of media (print, broadcast, online, radio, etc.)
  • Brief description of your coverage area or beat
  • Press credentials or proof of affiliation
Requests can be submitted via email to the Public Information Officer or through the Press Information Requests section of this website.

MAINTAINING MEMBERSHIP

Members of the Media Distribution List are expected to:
  • Respect all embargo terms and conditions
  • Report information accurately and fairly
  • Contact the Public Information Officer for comment or clarification before publishing potentially inaccurate information
  • Update their contact information if it changes
  • Maintain professional relationships with department personnel
  • Not share distribution list materials with non-members without authorization
REMOVAL FROM THE LIST

Members may be removed from the Media Distribution List for:
  • Violating embargo agreements
  • Repeatedly publishing inaccurate information without seeking clarification
  • Unprofessional conduct toward department personnel
  • Sharing embargoed or restricted materials with unauthorized parties
  • Failure to update contact information resulting in undeliverable messages
  • Request by the member to be removed
  • Termination of employment with a media organization (freelancers must maintain active publication)
Members who are removed will be notified in writing with the reason for removal. Appeals may be directed to the Chief of Police.

UPDATING YOUR INFORMATION

If your contact information changes, please notify the Public Information Officer as soon as possible to ensure you continue to receive timely notifications. This includes:
  • Change of email address
  • Change of phone number
  • Change of employer or media outlet
  • Change of position or beat
